I just treat what's in the tank. Not saying it's right but so far so good. This will be my sixth winter with current boat.

Was bored yesterday and remembered last time I was out on the boat, the av plate looked a little "wet". So I lifted the engine up one hole to the third. Went out today to try it out. The boat was hauling ass. Literally. Had two more people on it than I usually do so cant really compare numbers...

If the weathers going to be decent 30 miles is no problem. Done it many times.

250 is the way to go. loaded with three adults, ice, coolers, fishing gear, half tank of gas, pack of cigarettes and a girlie magazine can hit 6000 rpm and 50 mph on the gps. Running a 19" rev 4 prop.

2008 with F250 Yamaha #2hole 19" Rev4 prop Half tank fuel, ice, fishing gear, three guys, I get 50-51 mph on GPS hitting 6000 rpm. Thinking of going up one hole and trying next bigger size prop. Average just over 3mpg at 4300 rpm.

I had one go after four years. Was making all kinds of noise and working real slow. As I was retracting it, something broke inside. The motor was spinning free but the tab wasnt moving. Took the actuator off and saw a couple drips of water come out. Shook it and found it was full of water, Salt...

Boat in great shape. Yamaha F250. Just over 600 hrs. Rev 4 19" prop, 9x24 Bennett tabs, Garmin 4210, Furuno 620, Standard Horizon VHF. Forward seating delete so the front deck is wide open. EZ Loader 9200 gvw roller trailer $44900.

19" Rev 4 and 9x24 Bennett tabs. Bigger tabs are a must. Would do them before the prop.

My F250 has over 500 hrs on original plugs. Have the new ones but when I pulled the originals they looked great . Rechecked the gaps and put them back in. Engine runs great and gets great fuel mileage.
