    Windlass install

I'm looking at putting a Lewmar Profish 700 on my 25XL. Am told it mounts on the pulpit between the cleats. Anyone familiar with this one or did a similar install? Wondering if it's something I can tackle or have a pro do it. Looking for some input. :?: Thanks, John

Beckson Internal Rain Shields NOT an Easy Install

I did the same thing in my 2004 25XL this summer. What a crap job to do. I did not remove the gasket in the window but I had to take off about 1/4" all around to get them in. They are tight and do not leak that I can tell. It appears to have helped but I wish Parker would come up with a...

Parker 3420 XLD at the 2008 Annapolis Boat Show

It is truly a nice boat. I met Linwood and Wood on the boat and they are just nice folks. Wood also wanted any feedback that might make the boat better, particularly to the Chesapeake crowd where we may do things differently than other locations. My initial thoughts.....I found the rocket...

    Small crack in deck

I've had the same thing happen to my 04 25XL. Cracks appeared on each side of the cockpit, forward of the steering station. This is an area where I put deck chairs on occasion but they have heavy rubber feet so it shouldn't cause this. Cracks are about 1-2" or so. I've had them patched once...

    priming raycor filters

I was told that you could but haven't tried it. I filled the cannister nearly full with fuel and then finished with the primer bulb. Worked fine. John

    Fuel water separator installation question

Thanks for the info. I've run the boat for several hours now and no leaks or problems. Still running down my MTBE tank so that may take a while till I fill up with Ethanol but at least I can now change the filter when needed. John

    Fuel water separator installation question

I replaced my current filter with a Racor that has the clear bowl. First time for this so my question is what is the normal procedure to test the filter? After installation per the instructions, I primed the bulb, started the engine and let it idle for a couple of minutes in the slip. No...

Ethanol article - Chesapeake Bay magazine - and a question..

Subject article in this month's issue suggests that you should burn off any MTBE gas before filling up with Ethanol fuel. The article goes on to state that mixing MTBE and Ethanol fuels in the same tank could cause problems in the engine. As I recall, specific problems were not cited. My...

    Ethanol Concerns

Kevin, Thanks for the response. My spin on filter is in the bilge area similar to yours. I'll look into replacing with a clear bowl type. I'll have to check with Tristate and see if they used 10 micron this spring. I haven't filled up yet this year so I haven't had to deal directly with the...

    Ethanol Concerns

Is it fairly easy to locate/change the engine fuel filter yourself? I also have a spin on filter in the bilge but it is not a Racor with a drain. Should I consider installing one? My dealer (Tristate) also recommended changing to a 10 micron filter ( I assume this is on the engine) and...

    Cabin rod racks?

Well I finally installed the racks I made over the winter. Mainly for holding them off the bunks while in the slip. They attach to the V-berth base and I've used several strips of velcro to hold them along the hull side so they don't shift. I'll cover the sticky back velcro with some sort of...

Pilothouse mounted riggers and cabin rod racks

How were the cabin rod racks mounted? Were they through-bolted from the outside top of the cabin? Thanks. John

    Salty Sam is here......

It's Parker's OEM. Had a longer track installed so I can slide it over the transom as needed while fishing. It will go from the rocket launcher back over 2/3 of the cockpit. No picture of it up though.

    Cabin rod racks?

Parker28 - do you know how thick the trunk cabin roof is in order to pick the right size screw so that I wouldn't go through the outside glass? I'll have to measure my rods and see if I meet the 6' max size.... Thanks. John
