I installed my 2 years ago. I believe i used 1.5" or 1.75" bolts, fender washers a nut and nut cap.
I installed the first one and then took some measurment and then installed the second.
They came out nice.
i have a Riffe MT1 for inshore fish and a MT4 with breakaway float line for offshore. i used the MT1 on teh 34# mahi. probably should have opted for the big gun...

ran 75nm sse of shinnecock @31kts friday evening. Set up on the troll at 730pm in 500f. put 2 YF in the boat before dark. Took a 135# mako at night. up on the troll at 515am sat. released at least a dozen small YF and had a few more to 65#. covered about 250nm in 24hr.
I have a 2003 2520XL with twin 200 HPDIs. I think a single 225 would be severely underpowered if you were loaded up with fuel, bait, ice and crew. it would probably be fine if with low fuel and 1 person. I can plane easily and run about 25kts on one motor.
