    Parker Sinking

Ohh baby! ...we are living this dream. (New tank arrived today! Yippeee) It illustrates exactly what Phil is describing. But instead of moving the bottom paint water line up, our story began "It was a soft spot in the deck that caught our attention one day..." There is about 35 gallons salt...

So, just how THICK is your Parker glass layup?

Unwired - Check the following thread - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2759&start=0 and go to bottom of page 1 - picture of total deck rot and water under the tank. That is our 1998 2520 DV. Eric at Parker thought 1996 to 1998 was when they started glassing the bottom of the deck. However, there is a...

    2520 under deck?

Thanks Dale - 20' or less is the number and in that size category level floation applies to outboards over 2 (two) hp... Besides Coast Guard regulations, the American Boat and Yacht Council has more to say on the subject. We decided to skip the float box converstion to fish boxes. It was too...

    It's ALL about the 2520

Mega - Thanks - picture helped. Nice bilge by the way. Photos are of new ducer in and plug sample. New fuel tank and deck coming soon. (Dale, also posted on thickness thread @ http://174.122.3.125/~dhubbard/phpBB3/v ... 9cff#p3956 Jtwo

So, just how THICK is your Parker glass layup?

This is the hull plug (for ducer) from our 1998 Parker 2520 SCDV. Offical thickness is 9/16" on one edge and 5/8" on the other edge. I think the plug grabbed a layup near the centerline which added the extra 16th. You can see the gel coat on top, lot'o glass, a thinner layer of gel coat on the...

    It's ALL about the 2520

Thats what were aiming to do (install ducer). Have bronze 20 deg tilt. Where did you install yours? (aprox. distance off center/from transom?)

    2520 under deck?

Talked with Parker about fish box conversions. Code says that the boat has to have some positive floatation and some part of the boat has to float above the water when swamped. With that in mind, Parker, over the years, has done ALL KINDS of variations on their deck layouts utilizing the...

    It's ALL about the 2520

'Nice' is a relative term, but yes, the mess did go away nicely. Bob Blesser Boat Repair in San Diego - thank you. Converting those aft float boxes to fish holds is currently on the table. Cost of conversion + loss of floatation vs awesome storage/function? Also, am I correct that the hull on...

    It's ALL about the 2520

Previous owner liked to store water in the deck and below the gas tank. We're remediating that - and thinking of turning float boxes aft into fish holds if we ever get this project in the water.... Thanks for all the 'little' project ideas. Something to shoot for. As i have become fond of...

    2520 under deck?

This is what should be under your decks...and what could be under your decks...

    2520 under deck?

No lead. This boat is enclosed transom, with outboard bracket and twin 200s (2002 - HPDI). Plenty of weight.

    2520 under deck?

Cool, and game, I'll post pics of all this tomorrow. But here's one to 'wet' your appitite...fish boxes would be under the area skined and being held up in the picture. All that is gone today. Full view of 'stringer layout' aft coming soon. I need to talk with factory and see what...

    2520 under deck?

Coolbreeze - I can tell you exactly what is under the deck of the 2520 as mine currently has none! It's a long story for another post - but more to your question - if you contact Parker with your HIN number, they should have a stringer layout. Eric is the person you want to talk to. also you...

    Engine issues - any help?

Hannibal, Couple of quick thoughts reading your post. 1. RE: 4500 WOT - Most motors recommend a target RPM of 5000-6000 with 5200 to 5600 being a good norm. 4500 at WOT sounds like you're running a prop that might be 'not optimum'. 2. RE: Surging - I have several motors that I deal with...

    first time parker owner

Speckmiester, Thanks for the info (that explains some of this) and sorry to sidetrack your intro. Like you, we have a boat new to us...and like you, we have something that is broken that is preventing us from using the boat (in our case - blown stb. engine - @*!#)...this stupid trailer thing is...

    Removing cabin carpet?

Have a 1998 2520 SC - no carpet and love it. Just hose it out, wipe it down and done. However, we don't live in a humid place. Carpet might mitigate some of the sweat that humidity can cause. Pulling existing carpet is going to mean glue, remover, sanding, etc. You might start with a patch...

    first time parker owner

Megabyte, Louisiana (where the trailer's plates are from) does title trailers. Problem is I don't know who it is registered to. Could be owner who sold us the boat, could be someone else, and the owner (whom I presume owned the trailer) never re-registered the trailer (or didn't have to)...

    first time parker owner

speckmiester To change the subject, we bought a 2520 from that area a few months ago and hauled it west. The trailer is registered with plates from LA, but the boat was registered in MS. Former owner said that trailers don't need to be registered in MS...T or F? Jtwo

    Fuse box Scematic

danielb - Can you forward that? It might be closer than what I have now. I found one version posted here for a 25 MV/DV, and then talked with Eric Denton at Parker who sent me another drawing titled 2520 XL. However, both versions were origianllly drawn 3-23-99 and revised in 03 and 02...

    Fuse box Scematic

danielb On the diagram the factory sent you, what is the date at the bottom (it will say draft and revision (or redraw), etc.). I have one dated 1999 and redrawn 02 and 03. I am looking for a version earlier than 1999 (1998 specifically). One hint is the newer diagrams show two speed wipers...
