Oil Sheen- 2003 F225 Mercury "Yamamerc" 4 stroke

No oil from trim tilt or steering. It appears to come from lower unit as it is dipped in the water and no visible run-down from exterior or inside mid section. We are leaning toward oil as well because a couple drops of yamalube in the water looks very much like the sheen that we are seeing...

Oil Sheen- 2003 F225 Mercury "Yamamerc" 4 stroke

Greetings from the Keys! I'm actually posting this question for a friend. No issues with my F150 now "knock on some wood", although El Raton ate my trim tab wire last month. Had to run new wire and eliminate El Raton! Buddy has an oil (or fuel) sheen surrounding one of his motors. Local Merc...

    lenco tab not working

FISHON, Success! I went with the easy swap and it works like a champ. When I took the top off the old one, I had the same corrosion/rust on the top of the motor. There were a few drops of rusty water inside, and I also had rust rings on the lower portion of the shaft. BTW, this boat is kept...

    lenco tab not working

I'll take the old one apart and if it looks like I can tackle this without damaging the new one, I might go that route. When I originally talked to Christian at Lenco, I started to go there with this idea as well and she abruptly ended my thoughts too. Thanks for the details. SS

    lenco tab not working

FISHON, I have a replacement actuator that arrived yesterday and I would love to know more details on this short cut you spoke about. I can't get my hands on the wiring (21SE starboard side) yet and unfortunately I don't have a sister-in-law to fit through the hatch!! Thanks in advance for any...

Skinny on Parker logo rod holders?

Shortly after I took delivery of my 21SE (late '06), I noticed rust spots on one of my holders (see image). The others are still perfect to this day. Parker will ship me a new one, but it is different from this style...still stamped, but more of an oval shape to it. I can't find the shape...

    21SE

WAY too much. Bought one last year in S. Florida. Under 32K out the door, nicely equipped. Your retail should be in the mid 30's for a well equipped 21SE, and it is reasonable to ask for Appox. 10-15% off their retail price. Add an aluminum tandem axle, for a couple of grand, and you should...

Man I love my new boat

Good taste. I bought the '06 Tundra after Hurricane Wilma and an '07 21SE last year and was thinkin' the same thing! Congrats! Scary. SS '07 21SE/F150 Florida Keys

    Trim Tabs

Lencos are on my 21SE. No problems yet, but my boat is on a lift. With that said, the spot-welds are showing signs of, well, let's say decay. I had Lencos on my last boat. Kept in the water full time, I replaced two actuators in three years. They were under warranty and Lenco sent me...

    23 SE Powered by a Yami F150?

At yamaha-motor.com, you can see performance bulletins on the 23SE (and others) powered w/ various four strokes. At least with my boat, these ratings were spot on. Note that they don't even show a rating for the 23SE w/the F150. They show one w/ the F200. It looks like the F200 is the way to...

    Live Well Pump, Fuses Frying

DALE H, How do I insert a photo of the boat under the Author section of the post, as you have so successfully accomplished? SS

    Live Well Pump, Fuses Frying

All, I spoke with one of the engineers at Parker today. The factory did in fact install the shureflo pump during production in late '06 as standard equipment. They are back to the Rule pumps, so, upon request, they are shipping me a Rule 1100 with everything I need for the swap out...

    Live Well Pump, Fuses Frying

Well, I jumped into this without looking closely at the wires. There is a black and brown coming out of the live well pump , and two reds going into the housing that holds the fuse. However, this fuse gets fried as soon as I flip the baitwell switch. If I figure out here how to atttach a photo...

    Live Well Pump, Fuses Frying

Thanks for the ideas. The pump worked well several times. On my last offshore trip, it fried when I flipped the switch. 5A seemed a bit light to me as well, but I'll check with the dealer to see if they are the ones that installed the pump. However, I ordered the boat with the live pump...

    Live Well Pump, Fuses Frying

Ladies and Gents, My live well pump is burning up the inline fuse at the pump itself. The original fuse was 5 Amps, so I replaced it with the same. The fuse burns up as soon as the switch is turned on. The wiring at the switch appears to be in order. The boat is less than a year old and...

    Just Took Delivery

Thanks Brad and Megabyte for the response. I splashed it this weekend, though it was too rough for an offshore trip. I'll take some pics of the boat next weekend on the water and post.

150 Hrs on my F150 Yammy and a Burned Out Fuel Pump!!!!!!!!

Capt. Phil, I have an '07 21SE powered by the F150 on the way...it's still in production an I should take delivery this month (the waiting is killing me). I don't have any answers on this one, but your post and replies definately caught my attention with the F150 on the way and my location in...

    Nothing but Mahi

Great Photos! Bet that saltwater washdown worked like a charm on those blood stains. Those mahi can be a bit messy. Its a good day when the boat's bloody, the fish box is full, and the beer is ice cold! Those dolphin are perfect sandwich size or simply blackened on the grill.

Brand new Parkers NOT rigged with Yamahas?

Just ordered a 2100SE. The manufacturer would not rig it with a Yammie F200 (said it was much too heavy etc.). However, they offered to build the boat and send it to the dealer unrigged. Who knows. I took their advice and ordered it with the Yammie F150. Still unsure about that E-TEC. I...
