Time to paint the bottom and we were tired of trying to paint it on the trailer, so we opted to put the boat on blocks. Had never tried it before, so we were a little nervous. Chained boat to a handy tree and slowly pulled trailer out from under it. Some nail-biting moments, but it settled on the blocks and seemed very stable and secure.

its always scary, no matter how many times you do it :D if youre going to be doing it routimely, theres a way that you can attach a pulley, with the same kind of clip as is on the end of your winch cable, on the cable (sort of like a block and tackle setup). with this setup, you can attach the pulley to the trailer beam furthest back, then run the clip on the cable back to the bow eye. whe you crank down on the winch, it will actually pull the boat's stern off the trailer enough to get the blocks under it. you can keep winching it off until you get to the right level for the bow blocks, or until you get to the point where you want to lift it with stands and block it. but it does make things easier.
