What kind of performance & fuel economy can I expect with a Yamaha 225 4 stroke on a 25 foot walk around cabin Parker. Dont expect a ski boat but this seems to be a little weak on the horsepower side for this boat.

I don't own an F225, but the OX66 on my 2520 MVSC is a 33 kt boat at WOT and cruises at 20 to 25 kts.

The 2510 and 2520 have the same hull so performance should be similar.

I would assume it is a 2510 mod V. If it is it's the same boat I have. mine will do 38-39 mph. You can cruise around 25 mph and tweak it to 8 1/2 to 9 gph. I think those numbers are ok and is fuel efficient in my opinion.

I also have a 2310 DV and it came with an F200 (which I was told BY YAMAHA probably only actually makes about 185HP). Very underpowered. Could not plane out with the Yam 17P prop when the boat was full loaded w/fuel, full 50 gallon bait tank and 3 persons. I propped it back to a 15P and it was so-so OK but top speed was only about 32MPH.
I put on a 250 E TEC and problem solved. With the Evinrude Rebel 15x17P it runs just shy of 40MPH at 6000RPM with full fuel and bait. The 6000 RPM is slight above max for the motor -5850 is listed as top RPM. I plan on getting the new 18P Rebel that Evinrude has come out with for 2008. BTW, the is a new 300HP E TEC that just came out several days ago.
