I am looking into a wet slip for purchase and I am wondering what size is needed. I am told a 40' X 14' is needed in order to trim up the motor. You are not allowed at this Marina to stick out past the end of your slip. Those of you who wet slip what size do you have?

I'd love to have a slip that long. Since the boat is 32' long overall incluing pulpit and the bracket with the engine down, 40' should do to allow it to trim up. My slip isn't quite 12' wide and I deploy fenders to avoid too much rub aginst the piles on a windy day, so 14' should also allow for some good wiggle room.

Getting into my slip is like threading a needle with twine. If I had 14' X 40' I might actually be able to look like I know what I'm doing!
