I’ve been watching a lot of “Project Dream Boat” recently. Really interesting to see old hulls refurbished and customized.
Several projects entail closing in notched transoms and adding a bracket.
Usually when the transom is rotted and needs to be replaced.
I’m wondering if anyone here has done this with a 21SE? Is so, would love to see some pics and hear how the boat rides after that type of alteration.

Not with a Parker......Did it with a Mako.

Just wanted to tag along to see what's everyone opinion. I've been thinking doing this on a 2120 but not sure how it'll affect the ride. 21 footer is just the perfect size for me and towing it is a breeze.

That boat represented 6yrs of my life building. It started life as a '73 23ft Mako Center console.

Well, it looks awesome! Must be such a great feeling of accomplishment after all that time.

I still have a way to go on my '01 SE. I tried so hard to find a heated storage space for the winter so I would work on it before spring, but came up short. I really want to remove all bottom paint....which has been a HUGE chafe so far, and fix a bunch of gelcoat.

I have a feeling once it warms up enough I'll be too focused on fishing. First world problems, I know.

Stripping bottom paint is NO fun.....Duck walking for days under a boat. BEEN There DONE that.

Takes a lot of guts and commitment to paint a boat black. Beautiful boat. What did you use for paint?

I hear ya guys! I removed the paint from the sides and transom when I first got the boat in the spring and said “never again!”
But I started picking away at the bottom at the end of the season when it was still warm enough. It’s a bear!!!
But I’m sure after a long winter I’ll have the motivation in the spring. Let’s hope :)

Painted the truck to match.. :) Awlgrip.
We have 2 mid 30s sailboats in the yard that are painted with the new version. One needed a repair and it came out great with a mid side blend. Little wiggle in the surface if you look closely But the gloss is gorgeous. The other one has a reverse transom about 30 degrees and it gets so hot that the fiberglas underneath bubbles around the reinforced areas. Ok in the rest

After you stripped the bottom what did you use to finish it? I'm trying the same thing but color matching has proven difficult.
