Headed out of the Marina Coral with Mike Najar, Javier Lopez and Ray Canela and an excellent load of sardines with a few mini macks thrown in the mix. Headed towards the 295 with intentions of fishing south of the Double 220’s. After hitting a couple of dry paddies and also missing a blind strike on the troll we found a paddy at 31.35 117.31 that held some nice dorado. We managed 3 with the largest going 13 lbs. Continued on towards the 220 and picked at fish all day. Trolled yellowfin, kelp paddy dodos and a couple of jumbo albies one of which spit the hook after a 10 minute fight on a flylined sardine. It was getting late and we were 48 miles from the Marina Coral so I started to gut some of our catch and 10 minutes later we passed a paddy and all 3 trollers got hit. Yellowfin, dorado and a yellowtail. We made a couple of passes tossing baits and it was wide open. Finished the day with limits of dorado to 16 lbs, 1 30 lb. alby, 4 yellowtail, 10 or so yellowfin and too many skipjack to count. It wasn’t wide open but the guys definitely had some nice fillets to take home.
