fuel sending unit help

i have just put half a tank of fuel in a completely empty tank and my fuel

gauge reads totally full. i have replaced sending unit already so

everything is new. Before i replaced it , still read full the motors are new

and so are all the guages (yamaha). can anybody throw me a bone on

this topic??

Not sure what kind of Yammie gauges you have. If they are Command Links you may just need to calibrate the gauge per the gauge manual. There would be a SET and a MODE button on it and you follow the set up procedure which I certainly have not memorized.

I just had the same issue with my trim indicator and it turns out that a low voltage signal can make have the gauge go to the gauge default settings.
