I got the GoPro Hero 3 black edition a couple of weeks ago for my birthday. We ended up going on a Charter off Hickham AFB while on vacation in Hawaii last week. Unfortunately the weather was a huge issue. We've been hit with high winds (steady 15-25 with occasional gusts to 50 MPH). The captain mentioned, after we were out there, that the other charters had all cancelled their trips. We had two hits while we were out but it was so rough we couldn't get to the chair in time.

I took a video while we were out. The boat was a 38 foot Bertram and the mate estimated the waves to be 12+ footers with an occasional 20. It was the roughest I had even been out in and I would never do it again. My two stepsons were spending most of their time over the side of the boat losing breakfast. Much more like an endurance contest than a fishing trip.

Here's the video but it does't really do it justice.

I also used it while doing some snorkeling. Got great video of the fish BUT somehow I deleted it when I got back home. I'm going out again before I leave. So far I'm very happy with the video. I need to learn how to do the fancy editing though.

I just got one for Christmas and I mounted it on my rocket launchers. I managed to get some good video of our yellowtail action this week. Very impressed with the picture quality.

That is a perfect shot of the back of the boat. Unfortunately you had to land the fish out of camera range. Do you have a head harness for the camera? I bought one but haven't tested it yet.

I hope the Hero3 has the Low light capability that they tote it has
That is the main feature I would by it for
The Wi-Fi and remote wont hurt either

The vid was shot early morning about 7am
Got a few Lobsta and had a swim through a crevice that's off to the side of the rock

??
My link skips to the actual landing of the fish, not 4+ minutes of them fighting.
TL;DR stands for Too Long; Didn't Read.
Its a joke...

Got it, I noticed that too.....still trying to figure this thing out. I tried to edit out a bunch of dead air where we were pulling the fish out of the anchor line.

what did you use to mount it to the rocket launchers?

I bought the gopro tripod mount and ran a bolt through my rocket launcher, there was an empty hole in the center.

Thought I would share this
Its me rolling off the side of the boat
Just before the water enveloped me
Kinda cool shot I got off the GoPro
