GOOD Brand Anchor Windlass

Does anyone have a Good brand anchor windlass installed, specifically a 850 series? I have a 500 installed currently, but it’s a rope only windlass that pretty much limits my chain length to a couple feet since it can’t pass through the wildcat on the windlass and into the locker. I’ve been considering upgrading to the 850 model for greater chain capacity, but I’m concerned about how much room the motor and associated machinery might take up inside the anchor locker.

If anyone has this setup and can comment on it, or better yet post some pictures, that would be very helpful in deciding whether or not to go this route.

Hi Pelagic2530 - I have installed a GOOD F850A windlass on my 2520 MVSC which has the same bow configuration has yours. It's documented on page 1 of this thread:

Thanks, that’s pretty close to exactly what I’m looking to do. Do you happen to have any pictures from inside the anchor locker? Interested in how much room the motor and machinery take up below the deck.

I'll grab a pic this weekend. I have 300 ft of line plus 15 feet of chain in my locker btw.

Thanks! About how far does that mechanism stick down? Tough to tell from the pictures.
