Hi I have purchesed some gel coat from my local dealer, two quarts, the cans came with out lables he did not know if it had wax in it, any way I did some small spot repairs and used PVA mold relese, I had pretty good results. the question is how many drops of hardener do you use per once?I used 18 and it set in about 20 minutes. I would like to re do the floor and would like to do it with out having sections. but I dont want the whole mix to set up. nor do I want to stop and remix. any thoughts
Thanks Billy

use the same amount as for fiberglass resin. For a given quanty the amount of drops of hardener will vary with outside temperature. Check your local marine supply and you will find a chart on the can of resin.

I've used 12 drops of hardener per oz of gelcoat in the past and it works well. See my thread in the Projects forum on "Gelcoat Repair A to Z"

Have heard if you over-do it, the gelcoat can get brittle.
