I have spent many hours on a fortier 26. She is a very nice boat, but does not like a following sea! I think we wore out two pumps on the autopilot. The one I fished originally had a Perkins diesel and was then repowered with a Yanmar. What a difference, it went from a 15 knot cruise to a 21 knot cruise. The boat seemed to run better at the higher speed. Overall she was a nice boat, but too much maintenance with all the wood work and canvas.
