I am in Texas and looking to downsize. I have narrowed my research down to the versatile Parker 1801. I am willing to travel for the right boat. I have sold my Grady White 24 so I'm ready to buy.

Requirements:
Price: under 20K
No bottom paint
No T-top (gets in the way when casting on a boat this size)
Four Stroke (not required but preferred)
Trailer

Other boats I seriously researched and considered:
Grady 180
Whaler 17 Montauk
Edgewater 185 CC
Carolina Skiff DLV 178 & 198
Panga Marine 18

It is a tough used market now (which is good for you). Aside from the several Parkers listed for sale in this section (scroll down), since you mention Whalers, I will give you three leads:

The above three links are to three different 190 Outrages (Nantuckets) for sale . They are 18' 10" long, and I used to own the first one I linked to. It holds specific interest to me, as I sold it to Lars 2 years ago, and it is an incredible combination of Whaler design and Yamaha 4 stroke power. Lars has it in bristol condition also.

Here are ome pictures of the boat before I sold it to Lars, and keep in mind he improved it!

Thanks Sal, but I forgot to add that my budget is under 20K. I have contacted the ones that fit my requirements on this site. John

I have a 2004 that fits your criteria except the bottom is painted. It has a Yamaha 115 four stroke about 160 hours, loadrite trailer, leaning post, garmin map internal ant. The price is right at 17,000.00.

I am the proud new owner of Charleston Parker's boat. Own an Edgewater 185 with my father and have run the BW. Had never ridden on or owned a Parker prior.

Haven't had the boat out in the sound yet, but took her out on Lake Fontana (NC) last weekend and am tickled by the feel and size of the boat. Rock solid, stable at rest, extremely well laid out....backing plates on all hardware, etc.

Point is, search is well worth it and I think sze is perfect for 90pct of what I want to do (trailerable with ease w/Yukon through mtns). Hang in there w/search--also, you may want to ask some other members to weigh-in on 2stroke vs. 4 stroke--I was specifically looking for an immaculate 2 stroke in this size range. (where the noise/exhaust/fuel burn advantages are negligible but added maintenance and out-of-the-hole power for this boat may not be...I prefer the "keep it simple stupid" philosophy on a boat of this size....also, the Yam 115 is smooth like butter like the northern folks say. Helps also when boat and motor are more than seller represented in quality and care. Good luck.
