Depends upon your expectations too. My father runs the earlier version of my hull out of NJ to the Canyons. He is happy to slow down in exchange for the economy. The boat he buddy boats with is a 28' deep v with twin 250s and my father will note that his buddy passes him on the way out and on the way in but he is always at the fuel dock when he gets there. My father typically will burn about half of what his buddy does. My father is happy with the 16-24 knot cruise depending upon the seas as his last boat did 18knots even on the glassiest of days. He is also a big wreck fisherman so the stability is a need of his too.
