Has any one used a gas trolling motor to "Spot lock" or hod your position? is it even possible?

Probably gonna need to elaborate on this one. I'm assuming you mean a kicker motor by "gas trolling motor"?

The issue there would be that to my knowledge there isn't any kicker motor with the GPS interface that would be needed for the spot lock function. Nor can the motor spin 360 degrees or shift itself ahead/astern to provide thrust in all directions.
