Hello I’m a newbie with fiberglass and not sure what I’m doing and what I need but I am handy.

I"m cutting the floor on my boat to get the gas tank out and would like to know what I would need to glass the floor back in place. I"m going to put some support along the stingers and screw the deck cutout to it and then fiberglass back in .

I'm not sure what type of fiberblass matt, epoxy, and gelcoat/paint to use. And the amount needed

My boat is a 99 parker 21SE. The cutout is 28"x72".

I’m just wrapping up the same project on my 94’ 17’ center console. You are in the messy phase and it’s a major bear of a job that just keeps taking longer. I lagged 2x4 to the stringers and coated them them with resin. The new tank was the exact same size as the old tank and was set on neoprene pad and then bolted directly to the stringers. The old cut out deck was placed right back where it came from and screwed heavily to the 2x4a. I ground down the gel coat along the seam and then added resin and fiberglass cloth. Two layers. get all air bubbles out when wetting the cloth. Then I faired over it and sanded. Then four coats of interlux 2 coat epoxy. It’s a lot of work.
