Took a chance, maybe overpaid but the quality of the horn is pretty good, compressor is a little hokey but not bad, I'll mount that inside the helm and run the airline up through.
It will be nice to get the horns off the pilot house and up onto the tower.
Right now the whole thing is out for paint, should have it back in a few days. Will post pics when I get it.
I could but, I gave it to a buddy of mine who runs a bridge painting company. They will blast it, except it will be covered with mil spec epoxy primer and a commercial type Awlgrip.
Should be drying as I type this.
I also over sized all the mounting holes to receive nylon bushings which will isolate the SS from the aluminum. You can see it in this pic.
It was used here in Pensacola to coat the landing gear on military fighter aircraft. Once the surface is abated [sandblasted] it is some of the most tenacious stuff I have seen. It's Dark Green ,almost Black.
It thins with Distilled Water, but you better have Laq. thinner to clean the gun. I have seen the heat of a Tig torch laid to a surface that was primed. All it will do is discolor it. No peeling or flaking.
