I have a new 2820 that I would like to install rod storage holders in the cabin sides. Short of 5200ing pieces of wood to the sides and then screwing the holders into this is there any other way I can go about this?

Depends where you want them mounted, but I've tied in say a 1/2" thick, 1-1/2" wide piece, maybe 2' to 3' long and each hung vertically by fastening the top into the shoebox joint at the rubrail, using a 1" SS screw.

Then I mounted whatever rod storage mounts I need to them, like a "backer plate" framework so to speak.

Dale,I also have a older Pilothouse(88'Sou'wester).Could you post some pics of your IN cabin rod stowage.I have my own system, but like to see what other folks are doing. THANKS!
