Hi gonna install a stereo and speakers. Where do most people mount the speakers outside the pilothouse. Maybe back of pilothouse doors? Doesnt look like theres any room to fit on side gunnals. Also I have no extra accessory switch. My last boat I ran power directly to battery. Know it would be better to run off a switch. How should I power it. Thanks guys. First week with the parker 21 pilothouse. Sweet boat.

poly planar makes a really nice under gunnel speaker. Super loud. Box speakers up top inside the back of the cabin work for inside. You can get a little amp if you want to really make some noise.

Go with a <$100 Sony sports boombox. Don't drill any holes. When the boombox dies, get a new one. Those Sony sports boxes seem to last about as long as the $300 units with fixed speakers.

Boombox idea is not bad however, a boombox will not allow you to regulate the sound (fade) between the cabin and cockpit. You will not get the same quality of audio from a boombox. You can't get commercial free Sirius radio on a boombox. You can still play MP3 files through your stereo's auxiliary input.

If none of the above are issues for you... buy a boombox.

I don't think the Ultrasport crew is going to settle for no "boom box"

:D :D :D :D :D

I know the feeling. I have the cmd 5 head unit with ipod plug and sirius satellite radio. I have 4 Clarion 1625 speakers inside the cabin mounted in the bench seats on each side. Outside the cabin I have the under gunnel poly planers on each side. I also have 2 more Clarion 1625's that are rear facing under the gunnel behind the step. In addition to that I have the Poly Planar 6900 6 x 9's mounted underneath my tower control box. Right now i have 4 of the clarion speakers powered by the head unit. I have the 4 x 80 amp from clarion that has each 6 x 9 on a single channel and the under gunnels and 2 clarions brought down to 2 ohms running off another channel.

As of this afternoon....I ordered 4 JL Audio 6.5's a 10 inch JL Sub the 6 channel 600 watt amp and 2 Poly planar box speakers. Box speakers are going to be mounted above the front window or in the back corners of the cabin. going to be replacing 4 of the clarions with the JLs and adding the sub and the amp. Probably put in another battery as well. If you cant hear youre music running 40 mph for 5 hours whats the fun in that. Plus i feel ultrasports pain.

Dude
go with the JL Audio component 7 series if you can
they rip.
How bout a little more of your boat porn!
(couldnt help myself)

JL has a package right now for the 6.5 direct replacements so i dont have to cut all new holes just drop into the current cut out for the clarion.

Brad... Do you know Will Castro and Exhibit? :D

That is a FishPimp-worthy audio system. 8)

I have a set of Bose weatherproof speakers mounted up under the gunnel rails, about a foot behind the cab. You can't see the speakers too easy, unless you look up, but they are slightly tilted so the entire speaker face is exposed. Works good and keeps them protected.

I have another set inside of the cabin for 4 channels total. With 200 watts output through the 4 speakers, it rocks. Adding 1 sub woofer next to see if I can rattle the parker apart..... Freebird never sounded so good 50 miles out.

This isn't the exact picture of the speakers, but it's close. I don't know if they make them any more in the exact style, but you get the idea.

Haha "the ultrasport crew" love it. Next time gotta get chicks up there on the pilothouse. Yea prob will do 2 flush mount speakers inside and 2 box speakers under the gunwales. Thanks for info.

Hey guys I took advice and purchased poly planar 7500 box speakers for under the gunwhale. Im not sure what to get for inside the cabin. Im looking for one speaker to mount inside to the top of the pilot house any suggestions. Thanks guys this forum has been great to me since I got my parker.

Gotta say guys that for the price im not too impressed with the sound quality of the 7500 planar speakers. Thought they would be better. My older 50 dollar sony 6 inch speakers sounded much better.
