My boat is 10 years old and my cables are ready to be replaced. I have a 2000 2520SLD with twins. Have any of you replaced your cables ?? Any lessons learned or suggestions ?

Looks like a poor design from the controls as the cables are making a really tight turn out to where they run under the cap.

Thanks !

Just replaced both the throttle and shift cables on my 18' Parker. Had a time and ended up removing the cap from the gunwale about halfway down the length of the boat. Pretty easy to do and after that, it gave me plenty of room to make that sharp 90 from the motor to below the deck. May not work on the 2520 though. Good luck.
