I want to follow up on the rooster tail problem with my new transom mounted transducer and interference between my new and old chart plotters.

Raising the new transducer until the cavitation plate on it was just above the bottom of the boat hull helped reduce but not stop the rooster tail without adverse impact to the sonar readings. I ended up eliminating the rooster tail by screwing a 3/4 x 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch piece of starboard into the stern saver to fill the gap between the transducer and the stern saver. Sonar performance stayed consistent. IMG_2760.jpeg

Unfortunately the only fix for the interference issue was to disconnect the thru hull transducer from the old chart plotter.
