Trawling

Has anybody ever pulled a trawl net with their Parker? I am thinking about pulling a trawl for next years shrimping season down south. Looks like work and fun put together.

Would you tie the lines through the hawsepipe, tow cleats, or top of pilot house cleats?

No idea, but I'd have to believe that would be a heavy trawl.
I would also think it would need to be as wide as possible.

Do you need a commercial license to trawl for shrimp?

I live on the bay in Panama City and see small shrimp boats out there during certain times of the year. Nothing as small as a Parker, though. I always wondered what it would take to go out and catch some shrimp in my own boat. Let us know if you do it. Good luck!

You do but its not very expensive. The trawl I would use would be 12-16 foot wide and the "otter" boards are pretty small.
