Waterline Bottom Paint Question

Although the bottom of my boat does not need to be painted this year, along the waterline does not look so nice. Do most of you touch up along the waterline OR is there some type of cleaner you use to make it look clean and for lack of a better word, like it was painted?

I usually give it a light scrub and a light coating of new paint (if needed).
