FWIW
I bought YDS software and cable kit for $60
I have an older kit which runs on 2002 XP laptop lol but not a new Dell Win 10 Pro 64 bit laptop.
I suspected the cable was the issue.
YDS is version 1.33 and cable is well made. I had no issues with install but needed changed COM port to 1 using Device Manager and runs fine.
Interesting the CD included lots of Yamaha manual and other files.
