    Parker 28 100+ miles offshore?

Currently have a 25SE and am considering an upgrade to a 2810/2820. We fish the 25SE regularly from 25-40 miles out, and have been past 50 a few times on very flat days. There are some very good fishing grounds near me in the 70-120 mile range that I just don't feel comfortable doing in my...

    Parker 1801 question

Have you ever had a boat with trim tabs? I’ve boated all my life. First 4 boats didn’t have tabs, and never thought anything of it. Most recent Parker 25 came with tabs. TOTAL GAME CHANGER! I would never have a boat without tabs again. Such an easy upgrade for so much benefit.

    Offshore GOM

Recent offshore trip. Perfect weather. Ran about 70 miles due west from Clearwater FL into 165’ water. Looking for ARS, and found them. Water was CLEAR. The shark pic was taken from the side of the boat - it is not an underwater pic. Awesome day. The 25SE performed flawlessly.

    2501 with twin Yamaha 150's

I’ve seen 47, when boat was essentially empty, 1/4 tank gas, just me, no tab, engine trimmed almost out of the water. Now I’ve added a Rhodan 36v with 3 batteries in the console (5 total on the boat), a permatrim, 2 anchors, and a ton of other gear. Real life conditions, wide open is usually...

21 SE difficult to get on plane

Parkers are notorious for riding stern heavy. They require A LOT of tab use. I have a 25SE, and start out with tabs fully down while giving the boat full throttle. As it starts to come onto plane, I back off on the throttle, then adjust tabs accordingly. Even running, I generally have tabs down...

    2501 with twin Yamaha 150's

I wanted a 25' with single F300. Tested out some different configurations, and the DV just seems underpowered with 300hp. I think it really needs the twin 200s. Ended up with a 25SE which is much happier with 300hp. Twin 150s with give you a top speed in the low 40s, and optimal cruise will...

    Pre-purchase advice

I am almost sure the 25SE and 25DV have the exact same dimensions and gunwale height - just vary in the deadrise. This is different than the 23 where the SE and DV are different boats entirely. I climbed all over a 25DV right next to my 25SE, and don't remember there being any noticeable...

    Pre-purchase advice

On the 25SE with F300: 3500rpm = 26mph = 2.8mpg 4000rpm = 30mph = 2.4mpg 5800rpm = 46mph = 1.4mpg (light load, perfect conditions, everything trimmed way up) For my purposes the SE is adequately powered with the 300. The DV was underpowered, and needs the twin 200s. SE pounds a bit in chop...

    Pre-purchase advice

Are you ordering a boat or buying existing inventory? I have a 25SE. Here is what I would have changed. Rod holder/ cleat combo in the stern is a pain. You cannot have a rod in place and tie up at the same time. Its a weird shape to tie a rope to and hard to lift up. I would have regular pop-up...

Where to get sage green gelcoat

Gelcoat on a 6 year old boat is going to have faded from the original color. Even if you find the gelcoat, there will be an obvious difference in color where they do the repair. You would probably be better served trying to find a more experienced repair shop, particularly one that has...

New boat with botched radio install. Thoughts?

For the console top, you could easily make the pattern yourself, send it to one of the seadek dealers and have them cut it for you. Its basically just a rectangle with a hole cut in it for the compass. I also don't know if I would trust that the compass is in the exact same location on every...

New boat with botched radio install. Thoughts?

Sorry this happened. I am also very particular about my boat, and this sort of stuff infuriates me. I have had enough crappy work done by boat yards, that my for my last install I had printed schematics with exact locations of each component measured out and emailed it to the manager in addition...

Addition of a Trolling Motor on 23DVCC

I don't know the exact dimensions on the 23DV, but I have a 25SE with an 84" Rhodan. In protected waters, I have about 12" of shaft sticking up. On rougher days in the ocean, I pretty much have it hubbed to the base. Parker's tend to have a lot of freeboard, and I am always amazed how big they...
