    FLIR Camera - Project

We have been running out so much here in N. California lately, I have decided to purchase a FLIR thermal imaging camera on the boat. Looking at the price of the units, I choke a little. I can afford to purchase a navigator II, but I have found a cheaper solution. Being an electronic engineer...

Overnighter - Northern California - Tuna, Squid and SHARKS!

Well, it was definitely an interesting evening and had an excellent time. Wasn't your standard cocktail hour... we were killin stuff! We arrived somewhat late out on the water, with not much time to fish. We ran out 60NM from Eureka Ca. to get to our desired fishing spot. We put in and...

    Adding Port Wiper Motor

Well, after a few trips out in nasty weather, I found I need a wiper motor on the port side. I tried RainX and it works for a couple of trips, but it's hard to stop the boat and wipe off the windshield when you are out in the slop. It's time to add a windshield wiper to the port side. I...

Need help and advice on Prop

I installed a new Yammie LF225 on my boat 2520 MVSC, (Left hand rot) and called my local prop shop here in California. They recommended using a 15.5" x 15p LH Mercury Mirage II prop. I broke the engine in over a month ago and it runs GREAT... very happy with the fuel burn figures and mostly...

UnWired hooks up at Newport Oregon OTC

Repost from HTC's Mike Nolan aboard UnWired - Thought I would repost this here to see Parkers in competition for the start of the 2009 Oregon Tuna Classic. Mike Nolan, Abe and our crew are insanely fun people to fish with... doing the next OTC Event in 3 weeks...

    Halibut double header

2 halibut on at the same time yesterday off of Eel River Canyon in Northern California. Simultaneously gaffed both and in the boat. 65lbs and 28lbs respectively. Headed out for a full limit (40 rockfish) and then more lingcod, a couple big ones. Epic day off of N. California.

    Northern California Rock fishing

Been out a couple of trips for rocks. The largest Cabezone we caught was close to a world record and it was a huge glutton. The photo attached shows 14 dungenous crab inside of the stomach of the big Cab. The largest crab was big and borderline legal eating size. The rest are black rock fish...

    Final testing - Video

Added a ton of electronics this year, new prop and some other stuff to UnWired this year. Was out doing some filming for a commercial and decided to roll some video of our Parker. Some of the footage was shot at over 1/2 mile, so sorry about the shaking. 20x zoom lens is hard to hold steady in...

VHF Marine Radio - What is DSC?

DSC (Digital Selective Calling) is really a neat system. They had a presentation of the DSC here in N. California, so a little bit of it pertains to here locally. I thought I would video tape and share with fellow anglers because this info could save someone's life. Keep your DSC radio on at all...

    OX66 Tachometer Problem - Help?

Have a 2001 Yamaha OX66 Saltwater II . The tachometer when I bought it was cracked in the LCD display, so, I purchased another one. The Tachs are different, the original didn't have a button, the new one has 2 buttons for mode and Set. The wiring was almost identical between the two of them...

    Parker 2520 Wiring Diagram

Does anyone have a wiring diagram in digital form? I have a problem and not sure how to cure it. My "Trim down" on the throttle control stopped working. I am not sure if we knocked a wire loose while wiring the helm, or, if something else happened and I'm overlooking it. The trim up works fine...

    Hydraulic Steering Cable length - 2520 -

Converting from cable to hydraulic and the boat is sitting across town and it's raining outside and miserable. I want to buy the parts on the internet. Anyone else convert to hydraulic steering and happen to know the length of the hydraulic hoses that I need to purchase? The boat is a 2520...

    How "Swell" are your Parkers

Had an interesting discussion with another Parker owner. He's got a 2530. vs our 2520. He said he's been out in rough ocean before and we were trying to determine what "Rough" actually is in a Parker. You see small craft advisories, which I heed, however, I am curious. What are the largest seas...

New Parker - New Member - N. California

Hey guys, Awesome to find a Parker forum here. Just bought the boat and started looking for an addiction support group. (Parker's Anonymous) Just purchased a slightly used Parker 2520 with 300 hours on it. Since the owner didn't use it much (he has a Boston Whaler), he sold me his Parker. We...
