I am removing the bow rail from my kids 1995 1800cc , it is in great condition, and my guess is it would fit the 1800 or 1801 models . It is all welded stainless, I assume from the factory when boat was new. Asking $500 We are located in Long Island, NY

We are doing a bunch of mods to the boat as we just picked it up in mid August and this was just one of the mods

Great,I am interested. Could you look into some shipping options? I will pick up the cost. Live in San Diego

Mounts through the gunwale. All bolts are easy to get to except the 2 forward ones are a bit tricky. When you drill the through holes epoxy the exposed end grain of the core wood and use some sealant. Make sure you use the proper grade stainless bolts and washers (avoid the rust stains). Too long of a bolt bottoms out and will ding out the verticals. Get them all started before locking them down. I remounted mine last year because either the dealer or factory did a sh!t job. It was loose, wouldnt tighten up and was leaving rust stains down to the floor.
Personally I love the high rail. Harder to pull fish over but I can live with that.

Thanks TomC! Personally I love the high rails way better too, but beggars can't be choosers :( Looks like mine already have the holes in and hardware installed, so I guess the previous owner just took the rail off. The only trick like you saif may be the forward - there is a light there now. Shipping from Long Island to San Diego is turning out to be a real pain, but I guess no surprise there.

Shipping it would seem difficult being that its one piece and so wide and it would need to be crated. One option would be to cut it at the bow to ship then welded/polished back in Cali.
Or fabricate a coupler.

I just took mine off a few weeks ago. Bit more work than I wanted but since I’m fly fishing out of the boat the rail was a real pain. Ended up having to do some glass work and then finish with gel coat…

Vindawggy, you wouldn’t happen to be on the west coast and have that rail available would you?

North fork of Long Island. It would be rude of me to try sell some thing on Huffinator18’s listing… Just wanted to post some pics so people could see the process if they are thinking about doing it. I will say I’m not sure how you could ship something like that. It’s very large and awkward.
Cheers.

Vindawggy, agreed and my apologies to TomC, I just can’t seem to find a practical way to ship to west coast, so grasping at straws here.

Just because of the length, I would think shipping would be very expensive. I think you would do well to find a couple marine or stainless fabricators to quote one. The bends are not that complicated and there's only 12 - 1" OD welds. I just modified mine to accommodate the new TM and by the time I was done, I was thinking that I could have bought the materials and made new.
