I layed under my 2320 for a long while today and discovered this perfectly round quarter size spot right on the keel 2/3 of the way down the boat. Not gel coated the same as the rest of the hull and slight softer. I ended up glassing it over w epoxy but does anybody know why? It’s there?
Also, is my 2320 a DV? Do they come as MV? What exactly would say this model is?
And one more thing I noticed the zinc anode was not centered. Will the little rudder get in the way of the permatrim I just ordered. I’ve read you all recommend it so I got the right one for my Yamaha 250. Very exciting!
thx for the input!
Tito

The two hull strakes indicate the 'Deep-V'.... If the 'quarter-sized spot' were not 'right' on the keel, I was going to guess someone drilled a hole for a 'thru-hull' fitting for a head/toilet? pump? transducer? and changed their minds. Or someone drilled in the wrong spot and that was the repair? The fact that it is only the size of a quarter would make that a very small hole for a thru-hull.

Thx Andy!
Well then I’m glad I glasses it over! And thanks for clarifying the exact model. I thought it was a DV. I went out a couple days ago in some nasty stuff taking water over the cabin and she handled just fine at about 8 mph. Do you know if I’m going to have to modify the zinc anode to fit the permatrim? Thanks again!

The sacrificial anode (likely not 'zinc' on newer aluminum outboards, although that is what most folks still call the anodes!) will not need to be modified when adding a Permatrim or other 'hydro-foil'...
Here's a general chart on the anodes, and the type you use, depends a lot on what type of water you boat in. (salt, fresh, brackish).. there is another recent post that talks about this.

Yes I am new! I jumped up from an 18’ Boston whaler guardian. Very happy with the upgrade so far. Here is a fresh picture. Thanks again ! I’ve got a lot of questions. I am so need to mount a bait tank but I’ll save that for another thread.

The anode usually is not centered. Typically the tail end of the anode is towards starboard to offet torque created by the prop. It can be adjusted easily to offset any "pulling" and/or hard steering to one side.

The circular piece on the flat pad is something leftover from production and normal and present on all hulls of that vintage at least up until 2006 (my former 2320). The engineer from Parker explained what is was but I have since forgotten the reason. I blended mine in just as you did. lol

Nice boat.....Killer van!!!!!
Thx! I was nervous how she was going to handle pulling the new sled, being that’s it’s the v8 5.4L. But she handled it fine.
