Impeller Housing

I am having a hell of a time trying to remove the half moon key from the shaft in the impeller housing. Tried tapping from the top, dremeled the middle to give a lil pinch but it won't budge...Any suggestions?

Sometimes you just have to cut it out with a die grinder and cutoff wheel...It's a PITA, but that's what it takes.

Saw on another site some guy used a compressed air duster (like the kind you use to blow dust off a computer keyboard) turned upside down (he said).
I guess the cold shrunk the key a bit and he said it pops right out.

Never tried it, but I have a duster at work and turned it upside and sprayed. The can gets almost too cold to handle. Worth a shot.

when you put a new one in file it down so it will come out next time

Got it out finally, filed the edges smooth on the new one. Thanks guys.
