Ok I want to tap into the step light to tie in a LED strip
I took the light off and there is two wires
One black and one grey I am assuming the black is ground and grey is positive
I do not have a meter I guess I should get one
Can anyone confirm this for me :?

You're all set Sully, as gray is a typical primary wire color for a cockpit light.

See: http://boatwiringadvice.com/boat-wiring-colors/

Adding to potential confusion, marine DC ground is not 'black' now, but yellow. There was too much confusion when a boat (and maybe an RV vehicle) added an AC circuit into the rig, as the black AC lead is a hot lead carrying the ~110V. Boats went KaBOOM, including that of a politician's late son ... so he changed the law ...

Thanks Dale

I got one side done today after work
Ill get the other tomorrow

Green Lantern, Green Lantern, Green Lantern!

Red right returning ... and BRIGHT green light on your starboard coming at you ... and that's Sully  !

There are so many dif styles. It almost looks like the 50/50 strip can support multiple colors. That would be cool if you could change colors now and then. Am I reading it wrong?

I replaced the step light bulb with

http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ulb-single-intensity-dual-contact-15-led/514/

Then put a 40 inch and 20 inch in line underneath the gunnel and one 20 inch in back under the gunnel at the turn of the transom

You can by the ones that change color with a switch but I wanted to stay with green
Next year I might put underwater lights off the transom but not sure If I do I might use these
In green Hooligan's green of course ! haha
