I just recently purchased an 1801 and need to replace the seacock fitting on the thru hull. Unfortunately the previous owner neglected the seacock and now it’s very corroded, beat to shit, and the bolts are shot. Any suggestions on how I should go about removing this seacock? Thanks in advance 🤙🤙

I had the same problem. I bought a cut off/grinder from harbor freight, maybe $20 and a metal cutting blade. It only took a few minutes to go through the bronze. The oscillating multi tool should work well too. It can be tight in the bilge, so choose the tool that gives you most flexibility.

Before you start cutting things and potentially messing up your fiberglass, a couple pipe wrenches and a buddy might get the job done. The pipe wrench does a better job of grabbing the fitting than Channelocks or vice grips will.

This worked for me on a very similar looking seacock. You’ll have better leverage with a big pipe wrench.

Just did this on our 2003. Cut around the base with a razor blade, spun the top off with the largest pipe wrench that space allowed. Drill out lower scoop screw heads, clean up, and reinstall
