I promised I would post this once I could get to the boat when the snow cleared.
Last season I installed a Rhodan 60” 80lb thrust motor to the port bow. Was a game changer for my 2020 fly season!
Placed 2 AGMs, battery charger, circuit breaker, and shore power plug in console. Ran wiring out of console and up port gunnel at fuel fill. Then up to anchor locker where power plug was installed.
To keep motor from interfering with hatch and “onboard” - it was placed as shown. This left one of four bolts hanging over. Thus I installed the supplied puck over a piece of 1/2 inch starboard that was bolted first to deck. Then 3 bolts went through puck ,starboard, and deck- with big washers underneath. The fourth bolt went through the puck and the now bolted on starboard.
Overall a very solid installation.
I also installed the “optional” RAM mount on the port deck to keep the 2K unit from whipping around when stowed. Why wouldn’t you?
The motor blocks visualization of the portside bow navigation light so I replaced the bowlight with a stainless cover- and placed new lights a bit aft on each side.
I also got a cover online to protect motor from weather and prying eyes in my public marina.
Please reach out to me for any questions.
