Is there a blue book for outboard motors?

    NVG

I read a couple posts regarding SPOTLIGHTS, and saw some real nice work installing same. Has anyone thought of Night Vision Googles for night time running? The price for GEN 1 systems has come way down. A hand held monocular can be had for $150.00 or there about. I have a NIGHTOWL marine 5x...

    Murrells inlet SC.

Anyone from the Murrells Inlet or Myrtle Beach area of S.C.? I'll be heading there in June for a little vacation, and I'm looking for some heads up on the local area. I'll be bringing a 14' inflatable to putts around in some. (Only boat I have right now.) A friend/co-worker is letting us use...

    Boat Ramps

Any Jersey Boys out there that can tell me where to fine boat ramps on the Manasquan River? Free or other wise, and how's the parking.

    PORTA-POTTI vrs. HOLDING TANK

I was drooling over the 2530 thread when I came to the discussion about Kevin G's holding tank and electric head. I've had two boats with the MSD (Marine Sanitation Device) (( Head and Holding Tank)) However I kind of like the idea of the Porta-Potti for ease of maintenance. The Sail Boat had...

    OUTBOARD MOTOR 1 AND 2

I received a flyer for the OCEAN COUNTY NJ VOCATIONAL SCHOOL. They offer MARINE ENGINE REPAIR 1 AND 2. Both classes are for outboard motors. You need to take 1 before you can take 2. I have seen posts here questioning the owners ability to maintain or repair their engine. Well, here you go...

    Question for fishing reel experts

My Neighbor gave me 3 reels, all Penns 60, 210, and 209. I see where rods are rated by action, Light, medium, heavy. Are reels rated the same? What would these 3 be? The 60 and 210 are black, the 209 is red, if that means anything other then color.

    THIS IS BETTER!

Below is an article written by Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated. He details his experiences when given the opportunity to fly in a F-14 Tomcat. If you aren't laughing out loud by the time you get to 'Milk Duds,' your sense of humor is seriously broken. Now this message is for America's...

    THIS IS GOOD!

I came across this story, while it has nothing to do with boats it is funny as hell! Now that I'm done laughing, I have to share! C-130 Pilot's description of approach into Bagdad For those of you with a military sense of things (not necessarily duty time but a sense of it) and a love of...

    Fishing Poles

Do fishing poles wear out? I see used fishing poles for sale from time to time, but somewhere I think I read poles wear out. I guess reels wear out too? (Can you tell I'm not a fisherman? YET!)

    CP BUSINESS CARD

Over at "Albin Owners" .com they developed a business card to pass out to Albin owners who were not aware of the web site. I was mailed a few, but I think a downloadable file for printing on business card stock would be the way to go. It worked for the Albin folks to attract new members to the...

    I am so friggin' impressed!

While I sit home with nothing to do but wait for surgery to repair my torn meniscus, and for my Albin to sell... I just went through all 11 pages in this "PROJECTS" section. I must say, there are some of you who are real craftsman. I am so impressed with some of the projects that I saved them...

    WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT.....

I didn't know where to ask this question, so I put it here. Has anyone ever heard of a boat named with a number? I'm thinking about using my badge number as the name for my next boat. What do you think about that?

    Interesting Products

I came across these items in "OFFSHORE" mag. I like the fender idea, the price is competitive. Just thought I'd pass it along. www.boatbunkers.com

    ALBIN OWNER

Hello to all, I own an Albin 27 Aft cabin. I'm looking to "Down Size" to a trailer boat. The $4000.00 a year for the marina is killing me. I can buy 1333 gal of gas with that money. (@$3.00 per gal.) I have my eye on Parker 2120. What should I look for, and lookout for? I'd most...
