Some new additions for this season on the scow.

My students built a center console out of 3/4" ply set to the starboard side to allow access for the oysterdredge
we tow to be hauled up on the bow where we put a culling board.

Also, we de-rigged a 17 Boston whaler Newport of its engine and steering which was donated by a person in town
to make way for new power on his boat. It will be gone through and tuned up by a local suzuki mechanic.

Hope to have it finished by this Friday and in the water next week, won't get to use it with students til September but
this year's class got some experience with boat maintenance and put a coat of paint on everything inside and out, including the bottom.

The console will be much more friendly to the operator than the tiller.

Dang it ....that scow is awsome.
if bryan built her by (eye) dont see why the rest of us couldn't do the same?
Im thinking a sixteen footer ..just wondering how much rocker to put it the bow.?
Have a yamaha 9.9 just crying to push a scow boat!

Correct, those white boots are what is known as Harkers Island topsiders. 8) Great project! of what could be considered as the other "white meat" too.
