OK. My machanic did my 1000 hr service. Everthing Yamaha wanted. So I set the boat in the water today for the first time since the service and start it up. Wow.1500 RPM's ,and it wont idle down.....not that it ever did that. Always started and idled at 600-700. So I let it warm up and untie it...

Try Bar Keepers Friend. Works great. My boat shows some signs of weeping rust.....but not really a huge issue. BKF handes this well. Make a small amount of "paste" with it ,rub it lightly...and poof! It's gone.Rinse well w/fresh water. Mines an 08.maybe the Stainless Parker bought back then...

Well I brought the boat home w/ a clean bill of health. Ran it 89 miles in epic conditions,grabbed a bug,a crab,limit of RF's w/0 problems. Seems the motors that sit in the salt all the time,and troll,or just putt around have some issues. So bottom line...run em hard....run em fast.....flush...
