Plastic Stuff Stuck On The Hull

I have had the boat in the water on a canal for several months and used a buoy (ball) to keep the boat from hitting a stationary dock. There is traffic coming up and down the canal making this necessary. Unfortunately, material from the buoy ball has become stubbornly adherent to the hull...

    Pilothouse Ventilation Questions

Now that I have moved the 2520XL to South Florida I am having much more pitting of the aluminum – but only inside the pilothouse. I believe this is most likely due to the increased humidity inside (particularly during the days) when the boat is closed up and sitting idle. More mildew is also...

    New Home For My 2520XL

I have accepted a new position in South Florida and had the boat moved. I had the boat moved by Atlantic Boat Transportation Inc. They were recommended by Robin Parker and did a terrific job. Everything was handled very smoothly. The boat was take from Rhode Island to Stuart, Florida by...

    Rust Stain on Deck

Someone put a metal box on the deck and left a rust mark in the shape of the box on the cockpit deck. Tried Orpine and Starbrite Deck Cleaner but could not get the stain out. Any suggestions?

    New 2510 DV with 350

I saw a new 2510 with a single f350 on a bracket at the Boston In Water Boat Show this weekend. ($86,000 show price). What was surprising was the size of the tabs - 12 X 16. The dealer said that the longer tabs were needed due to the added weight of the engine/bracket. Do larger tabs come...

    Dead Washdown Pump

The (factory installed) Jabsco raw water washdown pump on my 2004 2520XL had been working intermittently and now has fully quit. I know some of this has been covered before, but what would you recommend as a replacement? I use the washdown pretty regularly and would prefer to install a better...

    Sea Anchor?

I have a 2520XL and sometimes the wind catching the pilot house makes the drift too fast while fishing. I am interested in how some of you handle this problem. Also, do some of you carry a sea anchor for emergency purposes? If so which one would you recommend? Thanks for any input.

Black stuff on rear pilothouse windows

I run a 2004 2520XL and have had problems with the black caulking (?) in the rear pilothouse windows. Anyone sitting in the facing rear seats in the pilothouse gets this black tar-like stuff on their shirts if they make contact with the window – not too difficult when the boat is moving through...

    200 hour check and winterizing

I have had an impossible time trying to get a Yamaha certified mechanic to come to my marina to do the 200 hour service and winterize the engine (for mid November). I would also like to change the fuel/water separator to a clear bowl type. How difficult is this stuff to do on your own? I am...

    Bow Thruster on a 2520XL?

I had a very difficult time pulling into a transient dock on Block Island the other day. The wind kept pushing the pilot house off the dock. This was certainly not the first time something like that happened to me. The pilot house tends to catch the wind quite well. I couldn’t help but think...

    Cup Holders

I have a 2004 2520XL and have been using suction cup based drink holders. When crossing wake or heading out of Narragansett bay and into the ocean the cup holders (and the drinks in them) will often come crashing down. Any suggestions for decent cup holders? Before I started drilling holes I...
