I have 2 12' Ray displays on gimble mounts in electronics box and VHF and radio above as you described. Not a whole lot of room to work with.... I also painted the inside of the clear plexiglass flip up door to the displays with black plastic paint to stop window shopping of thieves around the...
Anybody know for sure what the total number in service is and how many have actually failed? :?: I"ve got 850 on mine, it was in a Yamaha dealer for a major go around at 750 and nothing was said or I have no evidence of this on mine....
No I haven't but I have that windlass on my boat for quite a few years and it has worked flawlessly. You might call me a "lubrication nut" but I'm constantly running around spraying stuff with whatever I have in my hand whether it be CRC blue can electric contact lubrication or PB blaster...
They had them at West Marine 4 years ago or so I believe in the section where the hatches and hardware are. Bring your old one with you so tou have a reference point. You need a heavier one with more resistance. 8)
I bought a heavier, longer cylinder from West Marine right off the shelf years ago. I bought the boat used and the window would never stay open especially during a choppy ride. To make it work, I had to remount the anchor block a little lower because the new ram was longer. As far as the window...
I generally run on ALL on the way out to the fishing grounds and once there switch to a single battery for drifting leaving the other fully charged and ready to go if neccessary. I usually forget to switch back to ALL on the way back in though....
Switching from a 3 blade 17 to 4 blade powertech 17 pitch. Have a Cobra plate on there now and has served me well. Question is, does anyone run a four blade with the plate or do you think I will get enough stern lift and can eliminate it. I'd rather take it off while the boat is still out of the...
I'm no fireman, but drove trucks for many years and it usually takes an open flame to light diesel fuel I believe. I think the fire must have started elsewhere before it hit the fuel.... JMO
Mine has always been shiney, but I hang out with a guy who used to race HP garveys and he says you get much better bite when the prop is not shiney and brite. I can't say for sure, just though I'd pass it along... 8)
For what it's worth, whether it's just luck or whatever, I'm an old school guy who adds Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel regularly. Some guys laugh at me, but I just had the boat in recently for a major service timing belt etc. at 700 plus hours. I run a 10 micron Racor ahead of the engine and...
The tilt sender does the same on my 225 Yammie. It's just part of the "to do" list. Once a month or so while washing down the boat, I give a shot of CRC electrical lubricant, (BLUE CAN) to the sender and other switches and windless on the boat. I do this probably 4 time during the total boating...
