    Davit for a 2520 XLSC

This is my old company's boat: http://www.crenvironmental.com/vessels_ ... e_anne.php We've had a custom-built davit with an Electra-Dyne pot hauler mounted on it.

Took the sawzaw to my Parker

Check my post history about how to do it... its a pain.

    Catch-all Motor/Hull/Tab Anode Information

Are you sure that what you installed were zinc? If so, I'd consider swapping them if you venture into fresher water, or ever haul the boat. If it stays wet, you'll be OK with Zinc. If it dries out, it'll slime over and no longer react.

DC Police Boat sinks docked boat

What a great demonstration of build quality. Thin FRP hull + 700 horsepower = huge hole.

    Lucas Injector Cleaner

Just an aside, my current company has a 2520 with twin F150's. It gets run 2-3 times a week, year round, with about 30% on plane, 70% at idle. No additional fuel treatment has ever been done. Both powerheads were replaced due to carbon clogging the rings and causing scoring in the liners with...

    Lucas Injector Cleaner

Its pretty sporadic, but usually one of the small bottles per 10-15 gallons or so. I used to just dump a little in the bottom of each of the gas cans when they were in the shop. Its certainly not bad for any small (or large) engine to run some cleaner in the fuel... this ethanol fuel is really...

    Lucas Injector Cleaner

We run Lucas in the Zuke, which sees a lot of idle time. I also SeaFoam it once a year, when we haul it out. No carbon problems in 3200 hours thusfar.

    Holes from a outboard fin

Paint them, any exposed metal on the gearcase could exacerbate corrosion. Personally, I'd clean them out with a round file and emery paper, then use some chromate primer, followed by the right color paint for the motor. Corrosion can be a real pain.

    bent skeg on lower unit

Good welders will snap/TIG them back off/on. A little grinding and some fairing, it looks like new. :edit: Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVS6qfveLG4 Just ignore his advice on replacing the prop with stainless "It's strong"... yes, and you'll be replacing the lower unit's input shaft...

    2520 Anchor

Boat-length of the biggest chain that'll fit the gypsy, and 5x your expected water depth in nylon line... 8-plait will lie much better than 3-strand. The best thing about that length of chain is that if you anchor in a shallow harbor (like we do a lot), you won't get past the chain in the...

Massive new Electronics build on 55' boat, advice needed

I was waiting for someone to notice. Yes, for sale. I can't say much more than that... and I've changed jobs too. My new company has a Parker 2520 too!

    12V pos-neg + Shield?

If you have a dedicated sea ground, that'd be where the shield goes. Otherwise, I've attached it to the battery ground without issue in the past.

    Charger/Inverter

Sine-wave inverters produce true 120VAC. Square wave inverters produce a chopped AC that can play havoc on sensitive electronics. Xantrex inverters are good. We've got a 2kW and a 600w inverter, both ProWatt models. I bought them through Amazon. The ProSine is a much better unit, and is...

    Trailer Guide Ons

I made heavy-duty ones for our landing craft. I used 3" wide, 2" leg, 3/16" steel channel, and wooden bunks with carpet. They work pretty well, and we used a cold-galvanizing paint that's holding up well.

    NMEA Connections

It also protects the delicate wiring from water/damage.

    NMEA Connections

Its not overkill, and it'll work. I still install fork terminals... its a PITA, but worth it if you ever have to reconfigure. You can also cut those bus bars apart and use them separately. We've got 4 sets in the 55'.

    Parker hard top project

My only suggestion would be to skip the vinylester and use Epoxy. Way safer during the build, and a stronger end product. Raka or WEST system work great. Other than that, don't forget to put some shape in the overhead. Nothing says "Homebuilt pilothouse" more than a flatt-@$$ roofline.

    Lewmar Profish/Freefall Windless Question

Careful with fabric softener. Sure, it makes the line softer, but it does so by coating the fibers with chemicals that reduce friction (and increase electrical conductivity). Those chemicals bond to the surface of the microscopic fibers in the line, and there's no research on how they affect...
