    Yamaha F250 Thermostat Question

The Yamaha manual talks about separate gaskets for the thermostats, but it appears to me that the gasket is actually intergral with the thermostat, and not a separate part. Anyone know? Don't want to get it all put back together to find out that I'm missing the gaskets. Also asked on THT. Thanks.

    '06 2320SL trailer recommendation

A properly galvanized steel trailer will last longer than you will, even with no rinsing. I've had three galv. trailers, and none ever developed any significant rust. One is nearing 30 years of regular, at least weekly, saltwater service, and it has no rust. Painted or powder-coated steel is...

Should I really be turning 6000 RPMS?????

Depends. If the 4400 rpm is at WOT (wide open throttle), and that's as high as your engine will rev., that's very bad. If the 4400 rpm is at an intermediate throttle setting, and you can hit 6000 rpm, or thereabouts, at WOT, you're fine. NOTE: The above analysis applies to the current crop...

    2120/2320 fuel economy

About 2.6 mpg for my 2320 moderately loaded in flat seas. Drops to about 2 mpg in heavy seas.

    2320 Battery Location

Mine came with two batteries in the bilge accessible through a hatch in the back center of the cockpit with a switch with Off, 1, 2 and Both. No pictures handy. Hope that helps.

Interesting Parker Story from Boat US Member email

Is this a notched transom cautionary tale? Great job by the USN.

Hydraulic Steering and Trim Tab Issues

On my front helm, when I crank the wheel, it sometimes makes a clicking noise and the steering slips. The rear helm doesn't do this. I assume this means the front helm is low on fluid. Do I just get a funnel and pour some more fluid in, or is it not that simple? My Teleflex SeaStar Manual is...

It’s 4 Reels! Parker 2320 – Pictures of new projects

Autopilot keeps you on a heading or GPS track while you set lines, read your instruments at night, look out the window, etc. It can help you avoid collisions in low/zero visibility, because you can get your head outside the cabin and you don't have to stay glued to your chart display/compass to...

    2120 lists at rest

My 2320 with second station developed a very noticeable list to starboard, even though I have a kicker mounted on the port side. Turns out I had a box of weights in the storage compartment to the right of the helm seat. I didn't think it amounted to much, but two 12# downrigger weights plus...

Beware of gas siphoning / consider getting locking gas cap.

As low as the tank is in my 2320, I don't think it would be possible to siphon gas. You would have to pump it out. I'm guessing that's true for most or all Parkers. Note, the above only applies to a boat in the water. I'm guessing Themis' was on a trailer, lift or rack when it got drained.

Pros and Cons of outboard brackets

He said he fished with his stern to some big rips. I didn't hear him say he was anchored from the stern. In about 800 hours of notched transom boating, I only had one incident. Drifting in 1' to 2' wind waves, a white cap broke in just the right spot to flood my deck such that the tackle...

Anybody have trouble docking their 2320?

Thanks for all the responses. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has bumped something tying to dock their 2320 in the wind. So far, at least I've managed to keep my hull pristine. Appreciate the tip about trimming the motor out a bit to help with reversing. Never knew that, but I never...

Anybody have trouble docking their 2320?

OK, I have about 2000 hours experience piloting outboard and I/O boats in saltwater, including about 200 hours in my 2007 2320. I am very happy with the Parker and love the boat, but man do I have trouble docking it. Never had this difficulty with any past boat. Part of the problem is that my...

    west coast dealer

Boat and Motor Mart, South San Francisco, CA. That's where I got mine. Pretty good guys, for boat salesmen. My Purchase Agreement specifically indicated that the F250 qualified for the Y.E.S. promotion, yet it took nearly a year of hassling to get the extra 3 years of Y.E.S...

    parker 2320 options

If you dock alone on a windward dock, I'd definitely spring for the second station. I went with: 2nd Station Bulkhead Mount Console Anchor Windlass (w/300' line) Deluxe Rocket Launcher (aluminum, 14 rod) Portable Head w/dockside pump out Position indicators for Trim Tabs Pulpit w/roller...

thanks, next question re: the 23 PH

I would definitely opt for the F250, a lot more ponies and better resale for not much extra $. From my experience with the F250, I would say that you will be in the 2.5 mpg neighborhood at cruise in relatively calm conditions. My mileage gets up over 4 mpg idling in gear and down as low as 1.5...

What's with the 'negative comments' about notched transoms?

I had an 18' Robalo center console with a notched transom similar to a 21' Parker CC. I ran that boat in some pretty rough conditions for 5 years and never had a problem with the transom, except once. We were slow trolling in maybe a 1' to 2' wind chop with a few white caps, and one cap...

    Yamaha Gauges

I have the Command Link square tach and speed/fuel gauges on my 2007 2320. I reset the trip gallons and trip miles by holding both buttons down for about a second. Turning off the key or even the battery switch doesn't reset my gauges.
