I think the issue MAY be that the gelcoat you are using is PROBABLY polyester based and that does not adhere too well to epoxy. (However, epoxy does adhere very well to polyester.) So you MAY have an adhesion issue. Thing is with boats, right about the time you think you got them figured out...

I pulled mine out and got my kid's protractor. There is a line that is perpendicular to the angled top edge. I laid the protractor along that edge and sure enough, they are 30 degrees. Since our boats are the same model and only a few years apart, I am thinking yours are too.

I have an 1800 (1995) with the same problem and I too need liners. Does anyone know what angle they are? It looks like Lee has 0, 15 and 30 degree liners. Also medium and heavy duty ones. Lee quality is first class and I would love to use them, if they will work. Thx!

Funny you mention the 2 to 4 stroke comparision. I own both and there is nothing like the torque of the 2 stroke. Mine jumps on a plane and gets it; and it turns 6300-6400 rpm at WOT. I have to use premix and yes it is dirty by comparision, when I nail it - it goes, I like that. :D Agree with...
